I was just ending my work day and thought I would check the weather. The link to the following article got my attention (courtesy of WRAL.com):
Wal-Mart Altercation Leads to Charges
I
cannot believe this. Of course, no specifics about the races of the
agressor or the couple have been released, but what happened! Just when
you think we are making progress, you see this!
Was
the guy mad because his ex went over the color line? Maybe his
interracial love interest rejected him. Maybe his behind is just
crazy!
What
do you think? Is this prevalent where you are? Has anything like this
(and hopefully not to this extent) ever happened to you?
I
was approached once in a mall in Greensboro, NC. I was with the white
guy I was dating at the time. He walked away to look at something and
his "brotha" came up and starting cussing me out under his breath. I
replied with the not-so-nice version of "leave me alone, dummy" and not
so quietly and walked off. Suppose that fool had been as crazy as this
guy.
I
didn't know this guy from a can of paint, but he felt the need to walk
up to me and express his "opinion". What did he expect me to do? Walk
away from "Jared" and live my life within the (color) lines? What is
wrong with people!
Geez!
Song choice for this one is obvious!
It Don't Make Any Difference To Me
What the World Thinks About Us, Baby
In my heart I will always believe!
That we were meant for each other
Love ain't got no color
It don't make any difference to me
What they see...
Amen!
